Lift Your Spirits and Your Breasts!
The shape and contour of our breasts have a lot to do with our self-confidence. We all want to have those perky, perfect teardrops that we’ve seen on Game of Thrones. Not everyone was built like that naturally, and over time our breasts may start to succumb to gravity. This is where plastic surgery comes in to help.
The Breast Lift
Stop worrying about pendulous breasts with nipples facing downwards or in different directions. Excess skin may occur after nursing or having lost an excessive amount of weight. The breast lift will be your best friend. The surgery produces firmer breasts that sit higher on the chest with nipples that point outward to create a more youthful look to your bust.
Here’s What to Expect
This breast enhancement procedure is highly customized to you, your body and your desired results. Typically, the surgery is performed using two to three incisions that follow the breast’s natural contour around and below the areola. The skin of the breast is then pulled and tightened, and excess skin is trimmed away, resulting in a better shape and position than previously.
What About After the Surgery?
Recovery from the surgery will require an extra set of hands. Plan to have someone drive you home after the surgery and provide some basic care for you over the next few days while you rest. It’s normal to have some swelling and soreness after the surgery, and your chest will be covered in bandages. These bandages will be removed after a few days, at which point you’ll be allowed to shower.
After a week, you’ll be able to go back to office work; however, full recovery will take up to three to four weeks. During this time, you’ll need to wear a compressive bra. Sensitivity in and around the nipple will be reduced, but don’t worry – that typically resolves itself over time. Your breasts will settle into their new shape within a few months, and your scars will begin to fade.
Did You Say Scars?
With any incisions, there are likely to be scars. However, because the incisions are made around the natural contour of your breast with the areola, scars are camouflaged with the natural flush of your skin. The scars will fade over the duration of a few months, and your breasts will look more lifted and better than ever before.
How Much Will This Cost Me?
Because breast lifts are typically considered cosmetic procedures by insurance companies, it is likely it will not be covered by your health insurance provider.
